The winemaker comment

  • The growing cycle began slightly in advance, with a very rainy and cool spring. The summer temperatures were fresh and well below the seasonal average, consequently the maturations of the grapes took place with a delay of about 10 days. The harvest of early varieties was facilitated by rather beautiful days of beginning of September, while late varieties enjoyed a rise in temperatures in the last decade of the month, which allowed for a full ripening of the grapes.

Ruby red with mauve nuances. The nose is characterized by the strong notes of cherry and plum accompanied by hints of cream and leather. Good structure and balance that end in a long and elegant finish. Wine suitable for aging thanks to an acidity slightly above average.

  • The growing cycle began with a significant delay, with some rains during the Spring. June was marked by cooler temperatures, under the seasonal average. August and September were hot and dry, but the ripening, despite two weeks delay, have been supported by water reserves of the previous months. Summer nights were characterized by cooler temperatures, contributing to the improvement of the quality of the grapes. From the end of September, rainfall was abundant, causing problems during the repining, without affecting the vineyards.

The color is mauve red intense. The aromas are characterized by complex and fruity scents of plum jam and blueberry, alongside spices and leather notes. The structure is large with soft tannins. The perfumes in the mouth are persistent. This is a wine that shows a great aging potential by its nature.
