BANFI PRESENTS THE SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2017

Banfi's 2017 Sustainability Report, as for the previous two editions, is presented with the technical and methodological support of PwC and its contents are based on the results of the dialogue with the stakeholders, on the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative G4 - Core option, as well as on those of the sustainability rating.

The report refers to the two companies, Banfi Srl and Banfi Società Agricola Srl, in the period between January and December 2017. The company's consolidated financial results are not calculated from the two companies, which means that the related economic and financial data are obtained from the individual financial reports.

The data and information reported, where possible, also refer to the previous two financial years (2015 and 2016), thus, giving the possibility to make a comparison between the data for a whole three-year period.

In 2015, Banfi began its process of reporting on social, environmental and economic issues through the publication of the "number zero" of the Sustainability Report. In the following two editions, the company continues the process of reporting on CSR topics, in which it is involved on a daily basis, as well as in the management of relations with its stakeholders.

Since its foundation, Banfi has realized the importance of the territory as something to support and enhance with constant effort. The wine, more than other products, in fact, intrinsically expresses the link of the earth with the human work. For this reason, Banfi has adopted a sustainable production system that is focused on safeguarding the surrounding environment and preserving the entire heritage of the territory: its culture, history, and evolution.

The important leading role that Banfi has played in the creation of the extraordinary success of Brunello and Montalcino throughout the world, has continued without interruption through the dedication of the territory and its community.

The extraordinary success of Banfi wines could only be achieved through support for its territory, for the community of which it is an essential part.

Enrico Viglierchio and Remo Grassi, presidents of the two companies referred to in the report, state in their letter of introduction: "Proud of the virtuous path that led to the drafting of this document and, increasingly convinced of the strength of this instrument to affirm the values and principles that guide us in our journey, we thank all those who, with their daily commitment, make all this possible".

The presentation of the third edition of the 2017 Sustainability Report, is Thursday, September 13 at Castello Banfi.

Banfi currently manages 3,125 hectares of property between Tuscany and Piedmont, with a turnover relating to the world of wine, which in 2017 reached 62.1 million euros, touching 86 countries in the world.
