March 2010, Korea – Banfi has recently been conveyed outstanding results from the Korea Wine Challenge 2010, one of the most prestigious and influential international wine judgings.
Among the over 700 wines tasted from 14 countries around the world, those of Castello Banfi received excellent ratings: exclusive recognition with a silver medal was conferred upon “Poggio alle Mura” 2005, the cru of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG produced entirely from our own clones of Sangiovese, the result of over three decades of research lead by Banfi on this prestigious Montalcino varietal.
The silver medal was also awared to Banfi Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva 2006, one of the most significant Chianti family labels by Banfi, which is distinguished for its rich aromatic profile and complex palate, as well as the great structure that renders it a wine with a propensity for lengthy aging.
