Castello Banfi, Tuscany’s premier vineyard estate is participating to the event Bellissimo Brunello organized by the internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling and City Winery partnered up with Zachys Wine & Liquor, in NYC, to create a memorable wine evening. For one night only, Italian aficionados all over the tri-state area will be able to join James Suckling and 30-plus of Montalcino's best wine producers. Castello Banfi will take place in offering the outstanding Brunello Poggio alle Mura 2006 produced in the vineyards sloping down from the historic Poggio alle Mura Castle crowning the winery estate in Montalcino. Characterized by an excellent evolution of the tannins, the Brunello Poggio alle Mura 2006 resulted in a smooth, harmonious wine, yet one with great power and intense varietal expression. James Suckling says: “I am a big fan of 2006 Brunellos, and I did a huge tasting of the 2006 vintage recently. Now I'm excited about the Bellissimo Brunello tasting I have organized with wine merchant Zachys in New York City on May 18 showcasing the magnificent 2006 vintage. The VIP tasting will be a sit-down tutored tasting”.
