Fuerte predominancia de la Sangiovese.

Método de producción

La fermentación de las uvas se prolonga durante un periodo de 8/12 días en cubas combinadas de acero y madera Horizon, a una temperatura controlada de 24-26ºC hasta los últimos 3 días, cuando se aumenta hasta los 30ºC. Una vez finalizada esta primera fase, se procede a la fermentación maloláctica en barricas de roble francés, donde el vino madurará durante 14 meses. A continuación, se produce el afinamiento idóneo en botella.

Belnero es la expresión del sólido e indisoluble vínculo de Banfi con elterroirde Montalcino. Un vino que refleja la experiencia, la pasión y el esfuerzo realizado durante tres décadas en pos de la calidad que la empresa persigue, ininterrumpidamente, en su constante camino para alcanzar la excelencia, tanto en las viñas como en la bodega. Se elabora fundamentalmente con uvas Sangiovese, la emblemática cepa típica de la tradición de Montalcino, combinada, de vez en cuando, con las cepas internacionales que han encontrado en esta región su hábitat natural. La estructura, importante y bien equilibrada, lo hace ideal para un envejecimiento prolongado.

    Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled hybrid tanks of wood and stainless steel for 8-12 days. Temperature was 24°C until the last three days when switched to 28°C until the end. Malolactic fermentation took place in barriques. A 14 months maturation occurred in French oak 350l. barriques (30% new), followed by an adequate bottle fining.

  • The vine’s growth cycle started at the right time with a particularly mild and dry climate in April and May. Fresh temperatures in June with no precipitation registered. Summer followed with average seasonal temperatures in July and for the first half of August, when suddenly rose up above 40°C until the end of the month. A sunny September had temperatures back to the seasonal average that helped in harvest operations.
TASTING

Thecolor isdeep red with light ruby nuances. The aromas are very complex, with hints of coffee, tobacco, blackberry and cherry jam. In the mouth the structure is powerful, warm and chewy, with a greatly enjoyable and pleasant vanilla notes in the end. It is a surely persistent and well-dimensioned wine, which is enjoyable since now and with a great potential of aging.

  • The vine’s growth cycle started at the right time with a climate particularly mild and dry in the months of April and May. The sunny days of June were then followed by copious rainfall in the middle of July, resulting also in significant drop in temperatures. The climate conditions in early August were pretty cool, but the region was then covered by an anti-cyclone weather pattern originating from Africa, which led to a spike in temperatures, reaching well above the average for the period and lasting for around two weeks. Therefore hydric stress accelerated the ripening. September and October were sunny and dry with very hot temperatures.
TASTING

Deep red color with shades of mauve. The nose conveys  sweet aromas, with hints of vanilla, tobacco and coffee, balanced perfectly with fruity hints of cherries jam and prunes.  The wine has a powerful structure, with important  tannins that add dimension and duration. Very persistent in the finish, it has enormous potential for aging.

  • The growing season started slightly late, followed by abundant rain in May and June. Temperatures in June were cool and well below seasonal averages; in the beginning of July the temperatures began to warm up and became quite hot by mid-month. Temperatures cooled down again in August with cool nights in particular, significantly contributing to the quality of the fruit in terms of aromatics and natural acidity. From the middle of August through September and October rainfall was scarce, resulting in an excellent harvest.

Deep red color with shades of mauve. The bouquet is intense, with hints of ripe fruit recalling plum and blackberry jam balanced perfectly with notes of vanilla, tobacco and mocha.  On the palate the wine has a powerful structure, full and round, with soft and elegant tannins that add dimension and duration. Very persistent in the finish, it has enormous potential for aging.

  • The spring start to the growing cycle was marked by abundant rainfall, which helped provide high levels of water reserves in the rich clay soils. The rainy phase went on till mid July, with temperatures particularly cool and well below the seasonal norm. After mid July, the weather stayed warm and dry; in this phase, the vines could take advantage of the water reserves accumulated during the spring. Relatively cool nighttime temperatures allowed for the gradual development of aromatics and polyphenols, enhancing the overall quality of the grapes. The harvest went smoothly thanks to dry, warm and sunny days in September and October.
TASTING

Color is an intense red, with shades of mauve. The scents are ample and rich, the fruity notes of plums join a slight balsamic aroma, along with perfumes of toasted coffee and tobacco. In the mouth, you immediately feel important, yet soft, structure with the sweetness of the tannins that give it great elegance and a long finish. This wine is well inclined to aging.

  • The growing season started late, and the successive phases were also delayed by higher than average rainfall in May and June. Overall temperatures were lower than seasonal averages through July. In mid-August, a hail storm touched down on several key vineyards, provoking a natural selection and reduced production. Combined with cool September temperatures, these conditions resulted in an earlier than usual harvest but with bright acidity and balance.

Deep red color, with mild garnet nuances. Very complex aroma on the nose, with initial notes of plum jam and a balsamic note, followed quickly by spicy hints of tobacco and coffee. On the palate the structure is powerful, warm and soft, with ripe tannins that give the wine body and length.  Enjoyable now yet endowed with great aging potential.

  • Thanks to a mild winter, the growing season started early, with anticipated flowering. Heavy rainfall in late May and early June provided sufficient water reserves in the soil to endure the mid-June heat wave. The harvest started about one week ahead of time yet still lasted into mid October without any difficulties, thanks to ideal fall weather.

On the palate the structure is powerful, warm and soft, with a pleasant note of vanilla in the end. Enjoyable now yet endowed with great aging potential.

  • The regular rainfalls throughout spring allowed for good hydro conditions during the hot summer months. The high temperatures during July yielded for an exceptional ripening of the grapes helped by the right temperature range between day and night in August. The warm September allowed for an excellent harvesting

  • The regular seasonal conditions during spring were marked by a hailstorm that reduced the production. The moderate temperatures in summer with a fresh August permitted to the vines not to suffer any hydric stress. The warm and sunny September allowed for a good harvesting.
TASTING

Mauve red color, deep and intense. On the nose gentle aromas with notes of vanilla, tobacco and coffee, and also fruity hints of cherry jam and prunes. The structure is very powerful with soft and well balanced tannins, which give harmony, long finish and great potential for a long aging in the bottle.
