Michelin Star Chef to Encore for Castello Banfi Culinary Program in 2008
Heinz Beck, Rome’s only Michelin 3-stars chef, will return to the Brunello vineyards of Montalcino in 2008 to host culinary experiences for guests of Castello Banfi – Il Borgo, the luxury rooms and suites ensconced in Italy’s premier vineyard estate.
Beck will host spring, summer and fall cooking lessons for the three-night packages, which include daily Tuscan breakfasts, one dinner and two lunches at the informal Castello Banfi – La Taverna, one dinner at a traditional local restaurant, one dinner at the Michelin star rated Castello Banfi – Il Ristorante, winery tours and tastings, plus excursions to local food artisans.
The two cooking sessions will focus on Beck’s signature dishes fusing traditional ingredients with innovative technique, including two savouries and one dessert.
“Beck at Banfi”, as the luxury cultural travel package is being called, is limited to no more than fourteen people. For the three nights guests will be coddled in the nurturing quiet of the recently opened Il Borgo, fourteen rooms and suites in the 17thcentury hamlet nestled alongside the medieval fortress, with discrete private spaces that include a swimming pool, pergola-covered garden, and heart-crowned reading room within the castle keep.
The inclusive “Beck@Banfi” package is 2,500 Euros per person based on double occupancy, or 3,100 Euros for single occupancy. It also offers an optional dinner at Beck’s own La Pergola rooftop restaurant with breathtaking views of the eternal city, plus overnight luxury accommodation in Rome, for an additional 600 Euros per person based on double occupancy or 750 Euros for a single. Transfers to and from Castello Banfi are not included, but can be arranged through Il Borgo’s concierge services.
